The Junior Guild 2015-2016 Provisional Class is working diligently to build upon the already established legacy and community commitment that the Junior Guild of Rocky Mount has upheld since its inception in 1937. To continue such efforts, we are soliciting your support in the completion of an outdoor classroom which will be utilized for Peacemakers of Rocky Mount’s Freedom School and after-school programs. Peacemakers, located in South Rocky Mount, is a community development, Christian organization whose mission is to provide the knowledge, skills and resources necessary for its members to lead successful and sustainable lives. Peacemakers’ mission is achieved through after-school programs, tutoring, education classes, food distribution, Freedom School and more. Freedom School is a summer enrichment program assisting children in low-income communities with reading. The outdoor classroom will be comprised of picnic tables, an outside chalkboard and a covering/shelter. We are also planning a reveal date for the classroom, tentatively scheduled for May 21, 2016 at 1 p.m. The total cost to create the classroom will be approximately $2,500. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are seeking sponsorships from area businesses, community members as well as current and former Guild members. The Junior Guild of Rocky Mount, Inc. has established a credible reputation for assisting non-profit organizations within the Twin Counties and for meeting its mission of fostering interest among its members in the social, economic and civic conditions of the community. Peacemakers is no different, and is one such organization that can benefit from your philanthropy. Any amount that you can offer is appreciated. All checks should be made payable to: The Junior Guild of Rocky Mount, and mailed to the address below. Please put "Provisional Project" in the memo line of your check.
